Thomson Reuters
Thomson Reuters is a global leader in tax and accounting technology solutions, with some of the worlds biggest companies relying on Thomson Reuters systems to manage their global regulatory and compliance obligations.
Software and Code Ltd have been engaging successfully with Thomson Reuters since 2014 on a number of strategic projects to develop and modernise their technology platforms into the Digital age.
Modernisation
Software and Code has been leading the migration of Thomson Reuters legacy systems to the latest version of .NET. This has included the following:
-
Analysing existing systems with the aim of producing an effective migration plan, from legacy frameworks including .NET Framework and native win32 C++, to the latest version of .NET.
-
Creating detailed plans in the form of features and user storis in Azure DevOps, to enable the successful delivery of the migration path.
-
Acting as technical leads with the aim of guiding junior developers through the migration process.
-
Providing hands on development skills in C# .NET, LINQ, Entity Framework, SQL and APIs to aid the delivery of the modernisation project.

Legacy C++ Application Support
We have been regularly engaged with Thomson Reuters in maintaining their legacy desktop application written in native C++ on Windows making extensive use of MFC and win32 API.
Most notably this included converting the application to a right-to-left layout for the purpose of supporting the Arabic language, enabling Thomson Reuters to sell their product to middle-eastern countries following the introduction of VAT for the first time in these countries.
This project heavily involved modifying the application code using the native win32 API functions in C++ to support transforming the application layout. The project was successfully delivered on time and within budget.
